The Common Admission Test is a premium management entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Management's. A computer based test, this is a highly competitive one – It will open the doors for 20 IIMs and more than 100 other top Business schools for MBA aspirants. Around 2.5 lakh candidates take the exam every year for approximately 5000 seats in the IIMs.
The CAT paper comprises questions from three sections – Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, and Logical Reasoning. Registration for the exam has begun from August onwards and the last date of registration Deadline is 15th September, 2021. Admit cards will be available online too. Candidates can register online only through the official website. It is being predicted that The Indian Institute of Ahmedabad will be hosting this year’s exam.
In order to appear for CAT, candidates must have acquired a minimum 50% in their graduation or an equivalent CGPA. Eligibility criteria are the same for those appearing from their final year of graduation. The examination is scheduled to be held on 28th November, 2021. Results will be announced by the second week of January 2022.
The duration of the exam would be 180 minutes (3 hours) and it’ll carry 100 questions divided into three sections. CAT English/Verbal Ability:
Reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, syllogisms, analogies, antonyms and synonyms, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, idioms, etc.
CAT Maths/Quant Ability:
Number systems, geometry, trigonometry, probability, permutation combination, algebra, mensuration, time and work, averages, percentages, profit and loss, quadratic and linear equations, etc.
CAT Data Interpretation:
Interpretation and analysis of data based on text, tables, graphs (line, area), charts (column, bar, pie), venn diagram, etc.
CAT Logical Reasoning:
Clocks, calendars, binary logic, seating arrangement, blood relations, logical sequence, assumption, premise, conclusion, linear and matrix arrangement, etc.
