The University originates from the Teerthanker Mahaveer Institute of Management and Technology (TMIMT), established in 2001. The TMIMT lay the foundation for the university, offering education programs for young students and professionals. After the university was established in 2008, colleges and departments for Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing, Para-medical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Hospital Administration, Physical Education, Engineering, Architecture, Polytechnic, Law, Journalism, Social Work, Fine Arts, Language Studies, Jain Studies, Women Studies, Disability Studies, Directorate of Distance Education and Agriculture have been established to meet rising aspirations of the youth.
